Saturday morning and the New England Black Wolves have made a couple moves. Colton Watkinson, Nick Chaykowsky and Mackenzie Mitchell  have signed two year contracts with the Black Wolves. You can read the press release Here

We also have a trade to report. The Black Wolves send a 2021 second round pick to the Georgia Swarm for Joel Tinney.  Tinney played in five games last season scoring one goal and adding four assists and grabbing 20 loose balls.  Tinney’s career stats can be found Here

Teams will submit a list of 11 players they wish to protect ahead of the Expansion Draft.

Per the CBA, a maximum of five forwards and one goaltender can be put on a team’s protected player list.

Well the league has published the protected players lists. Some interesting names available to Rochester and New York.

Curious move by Philadelphia not protecting a goaltender.  Let the bitching by Philly faithful begin.

Anyway let the backroom deals begin in earnest. Check out the lists below.

What do you see for the future of the league?

The indoor league is thriving and growing. I would expect to see this league grow in the very near future [from 13] to 30 teams. For the Swarm, the goal is to show the growth of lacrosse and how it can be successful in the South. When that is successful, I think we’ll see more teams, where we can build some cool rivals down the street.

The NLL will suffer greatly both on the floor and off the floor with 30 teams. Heck the league is suffering with eleven teams already.
