Press Release

For the 2019-20 season, a new season-long competition has been created among the five Canadian franchises, based on head-to-head competition between the Calgary Roughnecks, Halifax Thunderbirds, Saskatchewan Rush, Toronto Rock and Vancouver Warriors. The team with the best record in those games will be crowned the Canadian champion and receive a new trophy called the Alterna Cup. The cup design will be released in the coming months.

Just when you thought the NLL could not become anymore bush league. It has to go and do something that is usually reserved for college sports.Β

The Buffalo Bandits have signed Justin Martin and Bryce Sweeting to two year agreements.

The Calgary Roughnecks have signed Anthony Kalinich to a two year agreement.

The Colorado Mammoth have provided a qualifying offer to Dillon Ward.

The Halifax Thunderbirds have offered the Franchise Tag to player Ryan Benesch.

The New York Riptide signed Connor Kelly, Mike Manley, Kieran McArdle, and Dawson Theede to two year contracts and John Ranagan to a one year contract.

The New York Riptide have signed Tyler Digby to a two year agreement.

The Saskatchewan Rush have provided a qualifying offer to Ben McIntosh.

Derek Keenan is keeping the band together.

The Rush has sent a first round pick in 2019 daft, the tenth overall pickΒ in return for Jeff Cornwall. Solid deal for both sides. Rush get Cornwall back and the Riptide get a first round pick for Cornwall, who was not going to suit up for the Riptide.
